Flipped Learning with Edpuzzle

Hello there

today I'm going to talk about a web tool that helps the practice of my favorite teaching technique. The website called Edpuzzle is created for the use of flipped learning. The website let’s teachers create new material or use the material that already exist within the website’s archive. You can also add your voice to the videos you found if you think there is missing or incorrect information. The video lesson archive of the website consists of videos from Khan Academy, Youtube, Crash Course and more. You can see if students watched the video and if they understood the content or not. This helps with finding out which topics students have a hard time with and you can focus on that topic in your class.

I think this app should be used more frequently in language learning teaching because learning a language can’t happen with the content only being taught during lesson time. Language learning depends on two things, time and practice. By using flipped learning, the learner spends the time they need in the learning process individually and have more time for the practice that is more effective in the classroom rather than individually. And it’s better to learn some things on your own. As an example we all know that teaching vocabulary is tricky. We have to read the words out loud in class for several time. Or we can just let the students learn the words individually and practice how to say or where to use them. Because language is not just about knowing words. It is about how you use that knowledge, and practice plays a bigger role in this.
