Augmented Reality App: Thinglink

Updated: Jan 23, 2021

Memorizing is a big part of learning a new language. If the information doesn’t connect with learner’s brain, it will get lost. This is why in a language learning class, the content that is being taught should be interactive as possible. Thinglink is the perfect web tool to make that happen.

Thinglink helps you create interactive pictures and videos. While teaching the important vocabulary in the class through a picture, you can add tags to it that shows information when you click on it. Let’s say you are teaching body parts. If the students are wondering what the word for nose is, they can just click on the tag in front of the nose and found out. This way instead of showing all the information at once, which will make the specific information harder to remember, you can sort the information in tags and it will also be more interactive for the student.

If you are working with younger pupils, you can add sounds to different words because for children it is easier to remember something if it associates with something they are familiar with. You can add the voice of the animal or the sound of the wind or the fire makes. You can also record your voice saying monkey and tag the recording to the monkey in the picture so students can get that information through your voice whenever they want.

I hoped you guys will like my first web tool suggestion and maybe even use it in your classroom :)
